FUE is the technique of 21st century. Till the time Robotic Surgery becomes a reality FUE Technique and its modifications will continue to be the most used Hair Transplant Technique in Advanced Hair Transplant Centers across India.
FUE Technique has many advantages and most important one is that FUE Technique has no short term or long term side-effect. It has the least complication rate.
FUE technique consistently gives natural and better results. Recovery time is short and one can resume office the very next day. There is hardly any pain, bleeding or infection. There is no scarring of the donor area. In FUE technique there is no chance of injury to any nerve or blood vessel.
In FUE technique group of 2-4 follicles (graft) are extracted with a motorized rotating punch device. The punch used for this comes in various sizes from 1.0mm to 0.6mms.
The punch is inserted into the donor area encircling the follicle unit to be extracted. The punch is then pushed inside with rotating movement and to a depth sufficient enough to release major attachments of the hair follicles with the scalp skin. The punched-out follicles are then extracted with forceps or with the motorized suction device.
These group of hair follicles or grafts are then cleaned off any excess skin tissue and then implanted over the recipient or bald areas.
FUE Technique has following Advantages:
Preparation of the recipient site for hair transplantation begins with designing of the front hairline. It should be zig-zag in shape and should look natural.
After marking of the donor area, multiple tiny spaces are created fro implantation of grafts. Special fine blades are used to create these spaces to prevent any resulting scar.
The donor area over the back of the scalp is marked. Fine punch is used to extract hair graft using micro-motor. Special angulation is required to minimize transection rate.
After extraction from the donor area, grafts are stored in special solution. Excess tissue is trimmed off from the grafts. Then grafts are prepared for implantation to the recipient area.
The recipient area is once more prepared and anesthetized. The slits are opened. Grafts are then placed securely into the slits by using NO-TOUCH technique. This minimizes the graft damage or “inturning” of the grafts improving the long term results.
Fine punch is used to extract hair graft using micro-motor. Special angulated forceps are used for implantation and extraction of grafts. All the instruments and equipments used are imported from outside India.
